People magazine reports that Beyonce is currently in Nashville, and plans to appear on tonight’s 50th Annual CMA Awards, which air on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. Having superstar pop artists sing on the CMAs isn’t unusual: last year, Justin Timberlake stopped the show by duetting with the night’s big winner, Chris Stapleton.
As for what the Grammy-winning star would perform, she could duet with a country star on, or do a solo performance of, a country classic, since tonight’s entire show is dedicated to great country artists and songs of the past. Growing up in Texas, Beyonce no doubt was exposed to country music, and who knows? She might be a big fan.
Or perhaps she’ll perform “Daddy Lessons,” a country-flavored song from her critically-acclaimed album Lemonade.
You’ll have to tune in to ABC tonight at 8 p.m. ET to find out. While neither the network nor the CMAs not confirm Beyonce’s appearance, trust us: it’s happening.
