Blake Shelton's music goes to the “Dogs” with new single

Warner Music NashvilleLook for new music from Blake Shelton this weekend. His new single, “I’ll Name the Dogs,” is set to debut at 5 a.m. CT on Friday morning.

The new track is likely the lead single from his next record, though we don’t have any details about his eleventh studio album yet.

Blake’s most recent effort, If I’m Honest, came out in May of last year and brought him three number ones:  “Came Here to Forget,” “A Guy with a Girl,” and “Every Time I Hear That Song.” Just last month, the star of The Voice digitally released the six-track Blake Shelton Live.

This isn’t the first time the Oklahoma native has had dogs on his mind, singles-wise. In 2002, he took the story song “Ol’ Red” to number 14. The tune is the namesake for his new chain of restaurants and music venues, but with a slight change.  The chain is called “Ole Red” — that’s “Ole” with an “e” — which is different from the song title.

The first Ole Red opens in Blake’s hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 30.
