“A Lot of Things Different”: Kenny Chesney leaves longtime label to sign with Warner Bros.

Allister AnnKenny Chesney is leaving his longtime record label, Sony Music Nashville, to sign with Warner Brothers.

“It’s a big deal to change labels,” the superstar from East Tennessee says. “To me, music is only complete when it gets to the fans and becomes part of their lives. The people at Warner understand my commitment to that idea, and they’re just as committed to those ideals as I am.”

Kenny’s been with Sony since the mid-nineties, scoring his first top-ten hit on the label in 1995 with “Fall in Love.” His most recent studio album for Sony, Cosmic Hallelujah, is up for the Best Country Album Grammy later this month.

Kenny’s new music will be released under the Blue Chair Records/Warner Bros. Records imprint. So far, there’s no word on when a new album for Warner will come.
