“Woman, Amen”: Dierks Bentley’s lead single from The Mountain is a shout-out to his wife

ABC/Image Group LA Dierks Bentley released the lead single from his forthcoming album, The Mountain, on Wednesday.  Just like his #1 hit, “Black,” the song, “Woman, Amen” is a tribute to his wife Cassidy.

“My wife and our relationship has been the one constant element in my life over all the ups and downs of my career and personal life,” Dierks says. “Our journey together has made me the man I am today. I doubt my heart would even recognize the old me.”

“This song addresses that in the most direct possible way,” he explains. “The personal gratitude expressed in the lyrics, mixed with a track that leans heavily on some bigger sounds, is the perfect way to introduce the album.”

Dierks will perform “Woman, Amen” for the first time on TV Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Check your local listings to find out when the syndicated program airs in your area.
