ABC/Mark LevineThomas Rhett‘s autobiographical “Life Changes” is likely to be a huge hit this summer on country radio — that’s kind of a given. But the music experts at Spotify are predicting the self-referential tune may be bigger than that.
TR’s latest single is the only country title included in Spotify’s all-genre list of predictions for 2018’s Song of the Summer. “Life Changes” comes in at #8 on the rundown of sixteen titles that include rapper Cardi B, Taylor Swift‘s ex Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and others.
The folks at Spotify put together the list of likely candidates, based on buzz, momentum, playlisting, chart performance and simply whether they’d sound really great at a beach or poolside.
For the record, last year’s Song of the Summer across all genres was “Despacito,” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
