Mercury NashvilleLooks like plenty of fans were hungry for new music from Shania Twain. Now, Shania’s first studio album in nearly 15 years, debuts this week atop the all-genre Billboard 200 album chart.
Now did 137,000 in sales and equivalent streams in its first week, 134,000 of which were traditional album sales, the third-largest sales week for a country album in 2017, Billboard reports. Among country albums, Now‘s first-week performance was only bested by Chris Stapleton‘s From A Room: Volume 1 and Zac Brown Band‘s Welcome Home.
Shania also racked up and the largest sales week for a female artist in almost two years, and the biggest sales week for a female country artist since Carrie Underwood‘s Storyteller debuted in November of 2015 with 164,000 in sales and streams.
Now is the second country album to top the all-genre chart so far this year, following Thomas Rhett‘s Life Changes.
